Re-cycling of used cooking oil
The most common usage of used cooking oil is to be converted to hand soap, solid of fluid type and probably scented. Everyday, in any part of the world, cooking oil is being used in almost every kitchen, household, restaurants, food court and hawkers.
Some users would simply seek the easiest way to get rid of the used oil by disposing it anywhere to their convenient, knowingly or unknowingly polluting the drains and rivers.
Not too long ago, there are some scientists and food technologist had come out a solution: converting the used cooking oil to Bio-diesel. Bio-diesel can and will be on high demand in any part of the world where there are vehicles using diesel. Bio-diesel can and will gradually be used to replace diesel due to several advantages:
a) Stocked used cooking oil can be quite easily available for the conversion.
b) Volume of oil collected will be used up at a higher rate as Bio-diesel than hand soap or liquid soap.
c) Does not pollute the environment.
d) Converting worthless used cooking oil to a higher value end product such as Bio-diesel means generating a source of income and cash sales.
What we need is a set of containers, the right type of chemicals and technique, and Bio-diesel can be produced in any country where used cooking is available. At the backyard, behind factories, within factories, and even at home where space is easily available.
On the subject of converting waste used cooking oil, we have found this organisation working on this issue. Through much effort, the Bio-Diesel produced from several batches of waste oil collected locally, the end product (Bio-diesel) were then pumped into different types of vehicles ranging from small delivery vans, pick-ups, 4WD, Land Rovers, Buses and lorries to test the quality. Most indidual end users can testify the results from using this form of fuel to be more cost efficient, reducing smoke emisson to minimum to prevent air pollution, without affecting the vehicles’ performance.

I was browsing the web for recycling used cooking oil into bio-fuel. I can across this company Alpha Biofuels Singapore, http://www.alphasynovate.com.
Partnering restaurants providing them with the waste vegetable oil to recycled into Biofuel. They are looking to have more restaurant to take part in their oil collection program. If you have friend who are in restaurant business you can also direct them there.
They are launching a “Waste oil for Fuel” program to raise the awareness about clean energy in Singapore.
